Terms of service
Last updated: 19 June 2026. These Terms govern your use of deeplearnlab.one and your purchase of training services from DeepLearnLab Institute Inc.
1. Agreement to terms
By accessing deeplearnlab.one, submitting a contact form, or enrolling in a programme, you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"), our Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, and Legal Notice. If you do not agree, do not use the website or purchase services. If you enrol on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.
2. Services described
DeepLearnLab Institute Inc. provides hands-on deep learning laboratory training, including guided cohorts, weekend intensives, corporate lab days, asynchronous notebook reviews, and capstone mentoring. All services are technical and educational. They do not constitute university degrees, regulated financial advice, medical services, legal services, psychotherapy, wellness coaching, or personal development programming. "Deep learning" in our contracts means neural network machine learning engineering — not metaphorical inner growth.
3. Eligibility
Programmes are intended for adults. Participants must be at least nineteen years of age or the age of majority in their province of residence, whichever is higher, unless a written guardian consent form is executed for younger learners in permitted circumstances. You must provide accurate registration information and meet published prerequisites for advanced modules.
4. Enrolment and confirmation
Submitting a contact form or verbal interest does not guarantee a seat. A cohort seat is confirmed when you receive a written enrolment confirmation email and, where applicable, satisfy payment terms stated therein. We reserve the right to decline enrolment when prerequisites are unmet, cohorts are full, or a conflict of interest exists (e.g., direct competitors seeking proprietary curriculum copies without a corporate licence).
5. Fees and payment
Prices are quoted in Canadian dollars on our programmes page unless otherwise specified in a custom corporate statement of work. Applicable GST/HST will be added to invoices pursuant to our registration number 812345678 RT0001. Payment methods accepted are specified in enrolment correspondence — typically e-transfer, wire, or corporate cheque for Canadian entities.
Late payment may result in suspension of lab access until accounts are current. We do not store full credit card numbers on our servers; card processing, if offered, occurs through PCI-compliant third-party gateways.
6. Refunds and cancellations
6.1 Participant-initiated cancellation
- More than fourteen calendar days before cohort start: Full refund of tuition paid, minus a $75 CAD administrative fee per seat.
- Seven to fourteen days before start: Fifty percent tuition credit toward a future cohort within twelve months, or twenty-five percent cash refund at our discretion.
- Less than seven days before start: No refund unless we fill your seat from a wait-list, in which case a fifty percent cash refund may apply.
- After cohort start: No refund for missed sessions; exceptional medical circumstances documented by a regulated health professional may qualify for prorated credit solely at DeepLearnLab's discretion.
6.2 DeepLearnLab-initiated cancellation
If we cancel a cohort due to low enrolment or force majeure, you may choose a full refund or transfer to the next scheduled cohort. We are not liable for incidental travel or accommodation costs you incurred.
6.3 Notebook review and mentoring packages
Notebook reviews are non-refundable once mentor work begins. Capstone mentoring packages refund unused sessions pro-rata if you withdraw with fourteen days' written notice before the next scheduled call.
7. Attendance and conduct
Lab training depends on punctual attendance and respectful collaboration. Participants must follow studio safety rules, refrain from installing unauthorized software on shared workstations, and treat staff and peers professionally. Harassment, discrimination, or deliberate disruption violates the British Columbia Human Rights Code and grounds for removal without refund.
You are responsible for backing up your own code. While we maintain GitLab snapshots during cohorts, catastrophic hardware failure could occur; duplicate critical work to your personal repository nightly.
8. Intellectual property
8.1 DeepLearnLab materials
Curriculum outlines, lab manuals, slide sketches, and starter code templates remain our intellectual property or that of our licensors. You receive a limited, non-transferable licence to use materials for personal learning during enrolment. You may not resell, publicly redistribute, or operate competing courses derived substantially from our manuals without written permission.
8.2 Participant work
You retain ownership of original code and capstone models you author, subject to open-source licences on starter templates and third-party datasets. You grant us a limited licence to review your submissions for mentoring purposes and to display anonymized metrics in internal quality reports.
8.3 Datasets
Datasets provided in the lab are licensed for educational use within cohort scope. Redistribution outside the studio may violate upstream licences or Canadian privacy law; consult mentors before exporting data.
9. Confidentiality (corporate engagements)
Corporate lab days may involve your proprietary data. Mutual confidentiality terms are defined in the statement of work. Standard cohorts use public or synthetic datasets; do not upload employer trade secrets without a signed confidentiality agreement covering our mentors.
10. Disclaimers
THE WEBSITE AND TRAINING ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT UNINTERRUPTED GPU AVAILABILITY, ERROR-FREE SOFTWARE ENVIRONMENTS, OR SPECIFIC MODEL PERFORMANCE ON YOUR PRODUCTION DATA.
We do not guarantee employment, salary outcomes, certification recognition by third parties, or regulatory approval of models you build after training.
11. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, DEEPLERNLAB INSTITUTE INC. AND ITS DIRECTORS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS, AND MENTORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM THESE TERMS, THE WEBSITE, OR TRAINING — EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY.
OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US FOR THE SPECIFIC SERVICE GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM DURING THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE EVENT. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN LIMITATIONS; IN SUCH CASES, OUR LIABILITY IS LIMITED TO THE MINIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless DeepLearnLab Institute Inc. from claims arising out of your misuse of the website, violation of these Terms, infringement of third-party rights by code or data you supply, or deployment of models in regulated environments without appropriate compliance review.
13. Privacy
Personal information is handled per our Privacy Policy, which incorporates PIPEDA fair information principles. Enrolment requires collection of contact and billing data; you may not enrol under a fraudulent identity.
14. Third-party services
Training may reference PyTorch, cloud providers, GitLab, or other third-party tools governed by their own terms. Your use of those tools beyond our lab environment is solely between you and the provider.
15. Website use rules
You may not scrape the site at rates that impair performance, attempt unauthorized access to send.php or administrative interfaces, inject malware, or use the contact form for unsolicited commercial spam unrelated to our services. We may block IPs that abuse forms or honeypot protections.
16. Force majeure
We are not liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond reasonable control, including natural disasters, epidemics, utility outages, labour disputes, or government orders restricting in-person gatherings. We will endeavour to reschedule or offer remote alternatives where technically feasible without misrepresenting them as equivalent GPU bench experiences.
17. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and applicable federal laws of Canada. Disputes shall be brought in the courts of Victoria, British Columbia, subject to consumer protection laws that may grant you rights in your home province.
18. Severability and waiver
If any provision is held invalid, the remaining provisions continue in effect. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of future enforcement.
19. Changes
We may modify these Terms by posting an updated version with a revised date. Changes apply to new purchases after posting. Existing enrolments remain governed by the Terms version referenced in their confirmation email unless changes are required by law and notice is provided.
